Our Radical Parents

First of the 9 encounters planned for 2009/10 has taken place between artist Love Enqvist and his father Bjorn Enqvist a psychotherapist based in Stockholm. Each of the conversations is documented and will form a source material for a one-hour film under a working title Public Speaking.

The conversations are exploring possibilities of radical acts residing in practices of everyday life. “It is roots that make individuals suffer; in our globalized world they persist (…) causing pain impossible to treat, since they affect something that no longer exists.” Generational hand down and impact of parents in the formation of political and cultural values of their children are some of the questions raised by the project. Can a private conversation reverberate with relevance in a public space of a coffee house?
